We saw this movie yesterday, and I could not stop sobbing when Rue died in part because I kept thinking about the shitbags who weren’t affected by her death because she’s African American. Hurts my fucking heart so bad.
If you read the book, you’ll see that it says she has brown skin. How about you guys read the book and stop being racist assholes. Who cares if either of them are black? Does that really change your view on the story? If it does, then you need serious help.
This is infuriating. Amandla and Lenny - you were FANTASTIC, and were the people I pictured while I read the book. I hope they realize this fandom doesn’t suck, just some people do.

It’s disrespect to the max. Stereotyping a culture is not cool. Portraying a wrong image is not cool. This is NOT Native American, and you can stay away from ‘inspiration’ if it means you’re going to appropriate culture.
